Happy First Birthday Quinn!

It's hard to believe this tiny baby got so big so fast!

We celebrated Quinn's birthday by going to dinner and then getting a little ice cream cake from Coldstone.

We didn't think Quinn liked cake and ice cream so much, but he proved us wrong tonight. I'll have to post the video for you. His face kind of says it all though.

Oh, and this is what happens to your living room when daddy goes out and buys Quinn a birthday present...

Play date pics

Quinn's friend Kyle came to play all day last Friday (Sorry--kind of late. I've been sick).

Kyle was a big help with Quinn, and we had tons of fun playing and going to the playground.

Here's a pic from the morning and another from the afternoon. How nerdy is Quinn?

Transitioning to a new classroom

So this week starts Quinn's transition to the Infant 2 classroom at daycare. It's a 3-week transition process for Quinn since he is only there one full day and two half days. But his new room is more structured and only takes one nap (apparently this is a problem for Quinn even though he never seems to sleep at home).

The teachers say he's doing great though...even though he fell asleep eating lunch the first day.

So here are Quinn's first two projects in his new room. He was a complete mess from the pudding painting...and I'm kind of wondering if that will get moldy .

And here's what Quinn wore to school today. Yep, it's actually 2008 and not 1973. And Chris told us that Quinn's new classmates were going to beat him up over his pants...

And just how big am I?

About this big...

I don't think I realized how fast I would get huge the second time around. It's especially pleasant in the 90 degree weather.

Is it the end of September yet???

Sooo...why the lack of posts?

Well, we've been super busy getting the basement ready for a little remodeling. It seems that we've sort of run out of room in our house with baby #2 on the way, so finishing the basement seemed to be the next logical step.

Here are a few before pictures for you. The amazing feat here is that for the first time in almost 5 years the basement looks like it did before we moved in.

Of course, it took a garage sale and making our garage and living room look like this to get it that way...

And, poor Chris had to do most of the manual labor. Poor guy.
